Dark Chocolate Trail Mix Bites

I recently saw these at the Undressed Skeleton and thought I would give them a try.

Ingredients:
1/4 cup Trader Joe's Organize Trek Mix
3 tbsp Nestle's Dark Chocolate Morsels
The original recipe called for organic dark chocolate chips, but Trader Joe's didn't have any so I used Nestle's All Natural Dark Chocolate.

Melt the chocolate in the microwave.  I heated it for 30 seconds, stirred it, and then heated it for about 10 more.  Make sure not to overheat them or they will burn.

Using a spoon, make 6 chocolate circles on parchment or wax paper.  The original recipe says it makes 8, but I was only able to make 6 out of the 3 tbsp of chocolate chips.  I doubled my recipe to make 12.

Press the pieces of trail mix into the wet chocolate.  I slid the chocolates on a cookie sheet and placed them in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to harden quicker.

They peeled right off the parchment paper once they were hardened.

My husband and mom loved them!  They don't usually like dark chocolate, but they really enjoyed these.  It's a great way to pacify your sweet tooth.  You could try it with different kinds of dark chocolate and any kind to trail mix.
